Most Holy God, Prince of Peace, Eternal Giver of Peace, You alone have shaped the hearts of men, and You alone can fill them with love and peace.
I humbly ask You, O gentle King of Peace, to look with merciful eyes upon this poor world, oppressed by so many wars and divisions.
Why, O God of Peace, are there so many conflicts in the world?
Because our human hearts are torn and divided by hatred and by sin.
I ask You, my God, to reveal once again the wondrous works of Your Infinite Mercy by gifting peace to the whole world.
Do not allow satan to prevail in our hearts and, from there, in society and in the entire world.
My God, fill my heart with true peace, so that I too may become a bearer of peace for my brothers and sisters.
Just as the Lamb who was sacrificed obtained peace and reconciliation between Heaven and earth through the abundant outpouring of His Most Precious Blood, so now I pray to You, Holy Father: accept my small drop of blood (as a victim soul*), offered out of love for You, to this end — that true peace may soon reign in every heart that You love and desire to fill with peace.
Through the Perfect Sacrifice of Your Son Jesus, who offers Himself each day on our altars, I ask You for peace and salvation for the whole world: for every single soul, especially for those immortal souls who live without peace. Amen.
* The expression "victim soul" refers to a specific vocation within Catholic spirituality, by which a soul, united to the sacrifice of Christ, freely offers its own sufferings for the salvation of others.
This prayer may be recited by anyone; however, those who are not called to such a vocation may omit this phrase or entrust the intention to the Lord according to His Will.
Excerpt from the Message of February 26, 1994
This prayer and the following excerpt were dictated by the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the night of Saturday, February 26, 1994:
“Beloved, My Church is undergoing a great and painful Passion, the whole world groans under unspeakable suffering.
I lovingly tell you once again that if people do not return to Me,
various conflicts will break out, and the peace that they seem to achieve through human diplomacy will not last.
True Peace is My gift. It is the fruit of prayer and of the sacrifices of the good and, in a special way, of souls who offer themselves for others. Amen.”
